Getting rid of Antivirus Action

Howard

Lifer
I can't seem to run rkill successfully, the DOS window terminates almost immediately and the log file shows that nothing happens.

So I installed MBAM and then it will always crash in the middle of the scan.

What should I try now?

Yeah, that's the guide I'm following, but you'll note that it advises doing both of those things first. I'm stuck now because it's not gone.

Thats the first time I've seen anti-virus cause more problems than it fixed.
Even Norton wasnt so difficult.

Oh, its fake.
Bummer. I guess Norton still takes the prize as the one program better to not have than to have.

Man, I don't get it. I put the HD in my system and logged into my own OS on a limited user account, so there shouldn't be any processes running from the infected drive, scanned the infected drive with MBAM, got rid of all the infected stuff, loaded it back up and the problem hasn't changed at all =\

Is there something in the startup that needs to be removed that MBAM won't catch?
