ok..........there it is..........i know on a desktop i could just clear the cmos, but how do you do it on a laptop....it's a long story about how the password is there.....it's on a customer's laptop.....n e ideas????
I believe there is another thread for this topic somewhere here. From where I got up to, there is no way that you yourself can get rid of it. You have to bring it to an authorized dealer. What brand is your laptop?
Personally, I like the idea of a laptop that is useless when the BIOS password is forgotten. It makes for a great security feature. You have to take it to an authorized center where they just might see that it has been flagged as stolen or lost.
I think you have to replace the BIOS chip in most cases. There are lots of laptops on egay for sale because they're password locked. There are also some people on egay that sell replacement chips
