Got started back cracking after about a year or so slack. But anyway whats the deal with the mini teams and such. Any advantage/disadvantage etc?

Mini-teams are useful for maintaining your interest over the long haul. That is important on a contest such as RC5, which is definitely a "long haul" project. When you join, you can watch the team climb through the stats faster, beat more people and give you more bragging rights in the forums. I support almost anything that will keep participation and assimilation on the rise.

So, join a team, assimilate your family, then your friends, then your neighbors. Stop there? No, keep looking!

Don't worry - being solo isn't so bad There are plenty of people who've remained solo over a long period of time (nothing against mini-teams: if you guys enjoy it, go for it ), and I'm always looking for a good racing buddy . I haven't raced in awhile....due in part to mini-teams, but that's ok. Lesse....you are well below me, but have a much higher keyrate....care to race me? I hope to have a fairly small gun that may arise fairly soon, and up me to perhaps nearly 1k per day....

Wanna race to say...250k?

Glad to have you back cpars! We need all the people we can get! We are days away from taking the #1 spot in the world, but the trick will be keeping it! The DPC are hot on our tail with a massive keyrate.

Mini-teams vary here, usually they have themes or goals they are striving for. They tend to encourage growth amoung themselves for that reason. It's just racing at a different angle. You might want to check them out and see if one is of interest.

I'm with the RC5Crackheads, our goal was to be #1 on Mika's week stats page. We just made that (although it is likely that it will be short lived!) We race the Federation too, when they aren't kicking our butts by 20K blocks! We need a new goal so if you consider us you can be in on that decision.

Racing another person is great too! Lots of people are solo and would love some compitition to help motivate them to new levels!

As far I can see from your stats you don't really need to join a mini-team for now.
