Getting ready to paint house, need help in how to choose colors....

Alright, my father and I are about to paint the exterior of our house. They have picked up a couple of Behr Exterior Paint guides at Home Depot, which have good combinations of paint colors that look good together. Out of 50 or so combinations, we have chosen 12 that we think would look good. The only problem is, we would like to see an image of what it would look like with the colors. I am planning on using a picture of our house in Paint Shop Pro, and changing the colors myself. That's the easy part.

The question is, how can I accuratly get the colors into my computer without much change to the color? I don't have a scanner, so I would have to probably have them scanned at a photo shop. I know that colors can look different under different types of light, so I'm trying to get the best actual representation of the color. Should i have the color samples scanned, or should I just try and recreate the colors on my computer using digital color palette?

Find out what your neighborhood association strictly prohibits, and paint your entire house that exact color scheme. In ultraviolet paint, letter the words "Kiss My Ass" across the front of the roof. Put blacklights up there and turn them on at night. Guaranteed your home will become the showpiece of your development.

Take a pic and photochop it 🙂 Thats what they did when they painted the hotel my dad manages, it looked pretty cool cuz u can actualy see what things will look like...

I can do that, it's just getting an actual representation of the colors we'd like to use is that hard part. I wish that paint manufacturers would release color codes for each one of their colors so I would have have to try and make a color on my computer and hope that it matches up.

About all I really know about paint is that it always dries one shade lighter than it goes on. Also, a coat of primer goes a long way.

Well, I'll be starting a thread tomorrow showing our house with different colors, and maybe a poll 😛
