unless you have a really crappy board, and really crappy luck with the cpu.Originally posted by: Tbirdkid
I want to get one that will. I could spend another few bucks if most of them wont. I just need to know before I place the order. Thanks in advance...
I had to read your post twice to realize what you're saying. Are you saying that even a board that has a BIOS update for the e4300 and supports 800 FSB, like the GA-965P-S3, will still take the 800 strap instead of the 1066 strap and that's why everybody's topping out at 3.0 GHz?Originally posted by: Yoxxy
the problem is your board will take the 800 mhz strap. What you should do is BSEL mod to 1066 fsb. This will allow most people to reach much higher than 3.0 ghz. I have one running at 3.5 ghz 24/7 @ 1.53 measured vcore. Seems to be a great little chip if you take the time to mess with it. Check VR-Zone for the BSEL mod.
Correct. If you can force the 1066/1333 strap you will go much higher.Originally posted by: magreen
