Ok I bought my first LCD last January. The Hanns-G JW199D I have loved it and have had my 360 hooked up to it for a while now and it looks amazing. But now I have some extra money again and just ordered the parts for my new pc and am wanting a new monitor to go with it. I don't have much to spend but I am wanting a 24". So I am looking on ebay right now for some deals. Currently I have an ATI X800XL graphics card but sometime this month I will be buying a nicer one.

I will be doing dual screens with the Hanns G and the new monitor. The new monitor as the primary. I will also use the new monitor for my 360 using the VGA cable. On my computer I do light audio/video work. Recording and editing mostly. And some web design/graphic design. But I mostly just use it for the internet, instant messaging, watching movies.

I am stuck with getting a 24" I have a friend with a 22" and I went and saw some 24" at best buy today and they are humongous which is what I am looking for.

Here are the ones that I am looking at:

Acer AL2416W (Brand New Factory Sealed) - $399.99 + $20.00 s/h
Acer AL2416Wbsd (Brand New Factory Sealed) - $434.95 + $21.80 s/h
Dell UltraSharp 2407WFP (Brand New Factory Sealed) - $495.00 - $35.00 s/h
Dell UltraSharp 2405FPW (Used with No Dead Pixels) - $499.95 - $39.95 s/h

I have about $550 total to spend on the monitor.

I think I have decided on the Dell UltraSharp 2407WFP. What is a good video card for under $200?

I agree the 2407 (just make sure you get a RevA04 or HC) is probably a better fit for your needs with multiple inputs and 1:1 pixel ratio. The price on that Acer is pretty tempting but I'm not sure if it has support for as many inputs or even 1:1.

As for a video card, any of the latest mid-range cards from NV or ATI (X2600, 8600) should do just what you're looking for. They have some new features like onboard HD decoding as well as DX10 support, although you'll have trouble running any games @1920 on one of them.

Ok thanks! I am probably going to get the unopened Rev A04 off of ebay unless dell accepts paypal which I doubt it.

Thanks!
