Okey it seems like the new 790i version does indeed come with the fusion. This is new to me.

Anyhow, the cpu fan doesnt need to be pluged into any high end board because one of the people usually use waterblocks, or some form of extreme cooling.
 
Yeah, indeed it does not need to be plugged in. The mobo was just bad (Striker II) -- not sure why, but it's broken. The EVGA board we have in now is functioning properly.
