getting pictures from a word document...

I wasn't sure exactly where this should go, plus I need a quick answer 😛

I'm trying to get a couple of pictures from a word document attachment so I can put them on a website I am working on, the only problem is, I can't seem to do it...
I've tried CTRL+C, CTRL+V into paint, and the colors come up a little strange. That, sadly, is the only picture editing capable software on this computer, at least that I have access to. I can't install anything, as this is a school computer, so that option is out, but does anyone have any suggestions, or am I going to have to have the person send me the pictures again as separate attachments, this time not in word. (Not sure why she put them in word in the first place, asked for them as separate attachments. :disgust: )

Try saving it as an HTML document? Then it should put the images in a directory with the same name as the document.

I've had this problem. There is a way to "edit" the picture in Word, then you copy/paste the image once it is in this mode.

Besides the color problem, there is often a size problem. Word shrinks it from the original.

I am probably wrong on the "edit" terminology, but I know there is a way to get at the image in the original size in Word...

good luck. It's a pain, I know, I've had to deal with it too...

edit: out of curiousity I tried to find the option I was talking about. of course I couldn't... I did find that in the picture toolbar there is a "reset picture" option that will set the picture to full size and everything, even if it's too big for the screen. I was able to right click the pic and copy it, then paste into a graphics editor without any color problems. You might try doing that.

That worked perfectly, thanks.

Thats what I wanted to do with it, however, I'm doing this for school, and so all of my work is at school and I work on it at school, and the only picture editing program on the computers IS paint :disgust: )

I highly recommend that you DON'T take picutures from Word if at all possible. Word compresses them and you get all kinds of problems like what you ran into. Saving as HTML often works, but as a last resort, try the Print Screen button.
