Getting Paid to Advertise on Your Car

I've heard that you can get paid to place a company's ads on your car and get paid by mileage or something. While looking through the classifieds in our local paper my fiance found this link: http://www.adcarjobs.com/

She remembered that I had mentioned this in the past, so I looked into it. They want a $40 membership fee, so already I'm a bit apprehensive.

I drive 450+ miles a week just going to/from work, so if this program (or one like it) is legit it is definitely something that I'd be interested in.

Have any of you guys done this sort of thing before? Do you know anyone that has? Is http://www.adcarjobs.com/ legit? Are there any other similar programs you guys might be able to recommend?

So, does anyone know of a program like this that is for real?

I don't expect $3000+ a month, but a little added income would be great!
 
There is no way in hell I'd whore the side of my vehicle out for any corporation...unless they paid me bank for it up front. You'd have to be out of your fucking mind to do what the OP asked about in his post. The only thing that's going to do is part him from his money.

I agree... anything that requires an "investment" like this I usually stay away from, thats part of the reason why I posted here and asked about it. I personally wouldn't mind "whor[ing] the side of my vehicle out" for a legit company. Gas is expensive and with a 45 mile one-way trip to work I figure it would be worth the investment. Hell, if they can pay me just $150 or so a month then I'd basically be driving to work for free.

I appreciate your concerns about me losing money though.
 
I know they (the concept, not this particular company) used to be legit - Clark Howard (a radio consumer talk show host) used to talk about them 5-6 years ago. He said you would be paid depending on how desirable marketing-wise your route is, what time you went to work and came home, etc. If you had a route that was in a desirable target market and were willing to drive in peak rush hour, it could be $400-$500 per month but for the average joe it would be more like $100-$150. I haven't heard much about them since then though.

He said that market is pretty much dead. All went out of business.
 
There was a time when Red Bull and a few other companies would give you a car to drive, if you route and demographics were appealing enough to them. You were on your own for gas and stuff, but you got free wheels (with a giant fucking Red Bull can on the back, of course).
