Getting paid monthly is the worst!

I like getting paid monthly.

I would rather be paid monthly as well. It would make my budget sheet a little bit cleaner.

I use to have government contracts and they have the 90 days pay grace policy, hence they would only write the check on the 90th day to send to me after I complete the contract.

Count your blessing that you get pay after 30 days. Others may not get their money at all or take years in court to get their money after a company file for bankruptcy.

This too. I have to budget 4.333 of my paychecks per month and 2.166 for my wife.

My only problem with getting paid monthly was having to wait a month for my first pay, after that it's fine.

My paychecks are twice a month. I like not having to budget on a 2 week basis and then having a "3 paycheck" month twice a year. I'd rather just get paid on the same days each month and I can easily budget what bills come out of what check.

I don't mind it, I kind of prefer it.

When I got out of the Army, I had two jobs. One paid every other Friday and one paid every Friday. So I got 1 or 2 paycheck every Friday. Neither was for a lot of money but it was nice.

The only reason I keep track of when I get paid is so that I can avoid the commissary\PX on and about paydays. They turn into circuses due to peoples' poor ability to budget.

I get paid every thirty, but most of the time with my customers it ends up being 90 days. You really learn to start saving money this way.

I budgeted our expenses on 2 paychecks per month. Every 6 months when we have a 3 paycheck month we put that towards something fun.

I've always been paid monthly, apart from some contract work that I was paid for when I completed the job. Never had a problem with it really. Bills come every month, pay those, save some (if possible), and use the rest accordingly.

I can't see how this is any harder than getting paid bi-weekly, unless you live pay check to pay check. I think Id have to try hard to spend more then I make in a month. I don't buy a lot of crap though..

Agreed. My monthly living expenses equate to less than 10% of my income. I don't really see any difference between getting paid once or twice a month.

Sucks to be the 99%. My old job paid monthly. I usually cash the checks at one time when I collected 2 or 3 of them, right before the 90 days expiration. Sometimes I lost a check and had to have them re-issue me another. I have nothing to buy so they just sit in the bank.
Now the new job pays weekly and I signed up for direct deposit. I rarely monitor my direct deposits against pay stubs. I'd assume the HR dept don't short change me.

I earn cash 4 times a week... Friday/Saturday is usually my big payday but not always.

But my income is typically 2x of my bare minimum living expense so that leaves a lot of room for hookers and blow.

as for me, yes, I used to get paid monthly. It sucked eggs. I now get paid bi weekly. It also sucks eggs.

It is scary. If he lost his job and couldn't pay his mortgage, he could lose his house. It seems like a pretty big risk to me.

I used to care about that, hated being paid every two weeks instead of weekly. Then I realized this, it's the same fucking amount of money either way. I realized I just sucked at managing my money. Since that realization things have improved! I no longer mind being paid every two weeks, since I never spend all of my money and know my expenses are always covered.

Whether you're paid weekly, every two weeks, every month or whatever... Why should that change how much you spend on your necessities and leisure?
