Getting out of Verizon DSL

So my cousin had me put in DSL in june, verizon couldn't get it working till end of August. He just moved, so he had 2 month worth of service. He moved 3 blocks down and at first he was qualify for DSL service. Yesterday he got a letter that he's too far from CO.

Initially he signed a 1 year contract. Now that verizon is pulling the plug on him, he's not the one terminating the contract right ? So he doesn't owe them anything ?

He didn't get cable before because that area did not have cable but now he's in cable region but no DSL. This is totally funny to me... its only 3 blocks away.

Should I call verizon and ask about termination or see what they say ?

Yeah, but you have to remember that gyms COUNT on that. They know a bunch of people won't stay for the entire contract, and that's why they have the contracts! It's a key part of their business plan, and that's why they don't cut any slack.
