Hey guys. So im preparing my pc for Rising Storm 2 Vietnam, my computer is pretty old but you guys helped me get a great video card for it last. Im really not great with computers although I admire a nice pc, so your help is greatly appreciated. Im happy to spend what money I need to to get this up to speed and last me fow while, im ready to do what is neccessary. I need help with 2 things...

1. how can I get all of my Ram slots working, so far has only booted with 2, but I never really tried to get the other 2 working.
2. what should I upgrade next to take this comp to a solid level.

Heres what I got:

-windows 10 pro

-AMD Phenom 2 X4 944 Processor 3.2 GHz

-4.00 GB DDR3 RAM (2 x 2Gb, there are 4 slots but for some reason it will only boot with 2 slots.)

-MSI GeForce GTX 960 DirectX 12 GTX 960 GAMING 2G LE 2GB 128-Bit GDDR5 HDCP Ready SLI Support ATX Video Card

-BFG Tech GS-550 550W ATX12V V2.2 / EPS12V V2.8 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Power Supply

-Large fan - Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120mm PWM Fan

Monitor- Acer X203H ( pretty old and bad, but I like that it doesnt blind me with light, I sit close, but could use a much better monitor

Thank you!

Your video card is only about 2 years old so it might still be usable, but the CPU and motherboard are both 6-7 years old and don't really have a lot of room for upgrades, and you're just barely meeting the minimum requirements to run the game on the lowest settings with those. While the motherboard should be able to handle up to 16GB of RAM (4x4GB), the fact that the board and CPU are old and the board won't boot with four RAM sticks helps confirm that you'd be much better off just going with a new motherboard, CPU, and RAM. You may still want to upgrade the video card at some point in the future, but the GTX 960 is a decent step above the recommended requirements for the game so it should be OK when paired with the other newer parts.

As far as the specific parts that you should choose (including a new monitor), let us know your available budget for the upgrades and I'm sure plenty of people here will have some good suggestions.

ok that helps. I made a new post in the General Hardware section asking for some help building a new pc, budget is $1000, thank you!
