Getting new sub box, stuck on vinyl color

I am getting a new sub box to finally put in the subs and amp I've been sitting on for years now...

Below is a picture of my old setup. I originally bought the box for my old Firebird, which had the charcoal color interior. I then re-used the box and subs in my Trans Am, with the tan interior. I didn't mind having the charcoal vinyl, since it matched the hatch speaker grills. I didn't like the sound of the square subs anymore, so I decided to sell those and get round subs.

Now that I am getting a new box with round cutouts (I tried converting the square cutouts to round with no luck), should I get tan vinyl or stick with the charcoal? My only concern with the tan vinyl is the colors not matching, who knows how faded the panels have gotten over the years.

Just looking for some opinions...

Also, there is an option to get TRANS AM lettering on the top of the box. Not sure how I feel about it, opinions on that?

My opinion, a single 8" with 2-300w is more than enough to fill a cabin and deliver clean lows, and I'm not a big fan of vehicles which aim to share their music with those around them.

As far as aesthetics, I think the charcoal looks fine. I'd go without the lettering.

No lettering and the charcoal looks better. Paint the car panels charcoal to match, and paint the sub box tan base coat then the same charcoal to match. If you get the lettering, paint it tan on the top facing portion then on the sidewalls of the lettering, use some of that reactive UV red paint then point a blacklight down at it, or you could just use a laser and a letter mask over it to create the illusion of letters but then they'll need to be all red unless you use an elaborate array of mirrors to hit every side. Paint the backs of the mirrors charcoal, and put a tan stripe around the speaker surrounds.

The fabric on the back of the seat also needs changed to charcoal, and the red bird and lettering on the carpet changed to tan, with a red outline and charcoal highlights on one side, sort of like the sun is casting a shadow under it because the bird is taking to flight.

The silver on the speakers will never do. Either paint that red to match the exterior or paint the exterior silver to match that, or better still paint the panels gold and hot glue some emeralds to them for a nice contrast with the red exterior (unless you paint it silver). Put LEDs under the emeralds, that cycle between red and blue, and tan outlines around them, again with charcoal highlights so it looks like the emeralds are taking off and following the bird in flight.

:D

Either way looks fine.
