I will likely be getting a new P4 800FSB Mobo. I want utilize the performance boosting features available today, like dual-channel and 800Mhz FSB. The new Mobo would likely be from Asus, Abit or MSI....

Will my current memory, a pair of Kingston KVR333/512C25 work in a newer motherboard in dual-channel mode?

Also, what do you think about the posibilities of forcing these modules at 400Mhz and them sustaining reliable operation?

I know this is a Motherboard forum, but I think the smartest group of motherboard configuration experience folks are likely to be in this forum as opposed to the other forums, and, this is about integrating current memory into a new motherboard....

Thanks for your help.

If you are using an 800 fsb processor you will have no problem running these rams if you use the divider at say 5:4. If the cpu is running default FSB (200) then your ram will be running at 160. My personal experience with overclocking pc2700 valueram did not allow me to get past low 190's, but I had 256mg modules, you may get lucky enough to do this and then maybe not, good luck. You won't go wrong with an Asus or Abit board, I have 2 abit boards now, an AI7 (865pe) and an IC7-G MaxII advance, (875pe) and would recomend either. If you are looking for a budget board with good overclocking features the AI7 is the way to go, IMHO. It has vdimm up to 3.2, and higher vcore adjustments than my IC7 (2.8 vdimm). If you need the higher voltage in an 875 chipset board then the only way to go short of modding is the IC7-G Max3, it has the same settings as the AI7. hope this helps
