getting new mobo + GPU; should i buy a new PSU?

I'm planning to buy an Abit AT8 and a X1900 XT. System specs are in sig, the old PSU is an old Antec True Power 500 (20 pin, pre ATX 2.0), should i get a new PSU? Maybe a Fortron Blue Storm 500W? It seems odd to me that I'd be going for equal wattage than my old one, but it does have the SATA + PCI-E connectors, plus i'm running out of molex connectors on my currect PSU with all the hard drives and stuff. So, new PSU or no?
