Getting my TV-out to work: 2 quick questions

Hello all,

just wanted to use our new TV as a monitor to test it out using the TV out on my Gainward GF3 Ti200. It has an S Video out, so that means I'd connect it to the S Video in to the TV
How do I make sound come out of the TV? Would a stereo mini from my sound card out to the TV's red and white audio in work?

One more question- not related with my video card:
with a TV's component video "in" connections, i connected my DVD player from it to the TV, and video works fine. However, when the TV switches to "channel stream" (i.e. the component video's connection) it renders video, but no sound. So does this mean the only way to use component video WITH SOUND is to hook the TV's audio out's to a receiver/subwoofer/speaker system? In other words, component video can render video but sound can't come out of the TV, but rather a home stereo system?

Thanks hope the questions are clear, all help in appreciated in advance,

Tim

Yep, that should do it.

I have it hooked up on S-Video for video and RCA for audio and mine works fine. Although, it sounds like a faulty board in your TV perhaps. But that may be jumping to conclusions. Have you tried hooking it up through another device such as a VCR?
