getting my ps3 online

I'm just curious if I can plug up my ps3 to my other NIC on my motherboard(dual ports). my computer is a lot closer to my ps3 than my router is... if not i'll just run a long enough cable to the router but was just curious if that open NIC on my mobo would benefit me any way.

if not then what's the point of dual nics?

Built in wi-fi not cutting it? You should be able to plug in the PS3 to the computer, and then on the network connection that plugs into the router you enable internet sharing (right click connection and check properties).
