getting my macbook to authenticate to my win2k3 server w/ folder redirection

i got a macbook when i was back in jersey. and now that i'm home, i want to make the mac part of the home setup which is a mix of one windows server 2003 rc2 and one windows server 2003 standard domain controllers.

i'd like the macbook to do what the other winxp based machines do:

1. authenticate through active directory
2. use folder redirection
3. have access to the shared drives/folders

can these things be done? how?

I know how to get it to authenticate to AD. I didn't know about home folders and such, since we don't do that here, but I found this which may help you:

http://weblog.bignerdranch.com/?p=6&page=1

Skip to page 3 for an explanation on how to join it to the domain for authentication only. The rest of it deals with setting it up for home folder access, etc...

that's some good shyte... thanks for the link bro...

now only if there's a way to do folder redirection and i'm gold.

what do you mean by "this"? folder redirection, or the authentication and shares?

Redirection and authentication if you want to authenticate against AD.

this is a home/lab so i don't mind breaking it. you have links or instructions on how to do the redirection/authentication?

Not off the top of my head but I believe Apple will be able to supply that info. Give them a call.
