Getting my HL cd key from valve? sierra?

I lost my CDkey.. I bought halflife a couple years ago. well, i went to play and realized, i lost the inner cover thing from the case, the one with the CD key. Is it possible to contact valve or sierra or something and give them the serial numbers off the box, or mail them the UPC and get a cdkey? I relly dont want to buy the game again, that would really upset me. Any help is welcome.

Contact them and see what they say, most of them are pretty friendly and reply quickly.

I once lost my user name and pass for T2. I asked them to retrieve it for me and they did, it was pretty fast too.

In your case I'm not sure if they can give you a new CDKey (technically they could but I'm not sure if they will).

Oh, and by the way you will need to contact Sierra, not valve.

It pisses me off that game companies dont put the serial # on the disc. Isnt that a great idea to put it somewhere else where you can then lose it?
