Hello,

I have a Asus P6T Deluxe V2 mobo that supports DDR3-1600 memory. I am currently using 12gb of Corsair XMS DDR3-1600 (this one here - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145224 ) but the BIOS is only showing it running at DDR3-1333.

How do I change this to use the actual speed of 1600?

Here are some screen shots of my BIOS. THis is what it currently looks like.

Here are the options under the DRAM Frequency list. WIll changing this simply do it?

Here is what is shown currently under DRAM Timing Control.

This is what is show under the AI Overclock Tuner. It grabs the correct timings for the RAM and shows the correct speed of 1600. It also changes the BLCK and PCIE Frequency options. I don't know if this is correct.

Thanks for the help!

It looks to me like the Ai Overclock Tuner XMP profile is correct. Have you tired that setting. If your machine is stable with that setting you are good to go!

The settings in your screenshots look good.

Hit save & reboot @ DDR3-1600, no?

Verify frequency by checking the CPU-Z Memory tab NOT the SPD tab.

When I change to the "AI Overclock Tuner" option to "X.M.P" (as shown in my last original screen shot) it changes some options below as shown in this screen shot.

This XMP setting makes the "DRAM Bus VOltage" set to 1.66 and it displays the following warning above it.

Is this an issue? The RAM currently running at 1333 speed sits at 1.65 voltage.

That's fine.

If that's stable, trying lowering the vDIMM & testing for stability, etc.

Why aren't you OCing?

You're spending all this time in the BIOS, with nothing really to gain.

It's so easy to bump up BCLK a bit.

Haven't got around to OC the CPU yet. I will reboot now and change to XMP and come back to check it with CPU-Z.

It sure does! Is the machine running stable?

yea it's been up since i lasted posted. i've played GRID and Modern Warfare 2, browsed the net a lot, ripped and encoded a dvd and burned it

Everything with no issue.

Yeah looks good now.
Playing games & encoding video likely is barely a test for your 12 GB.

I'd advise running HCI Memtest &/or LinX @ max RAM to make sure you don't end up with random errors that show up later.

On the OCing note, you don't want to be using XMP profile @ DDR3-1600 anyway once you start OCing.

You'll need to drop down to using the 8 or 10x RAM multi when you incease BCLK (DDR3-1066/DDR3-1333).
