Right now I'm planning on moving my router away from my 360. The 360 is right beside my HTPC which I'm buying a WIFI USB stick for.

How hard will it to be to connect an ethernet cable to my HTPC and use that WIFI connection? I assume the HTPC has to be turned on of course, which is annoying... but so is paying $50 for a damn dongle.

Furthermore, do I need a patch cable or a crossover for this?

I'm considering retiring my WRT54GS v4 and turning it into a WIFI bridge the Xbox as well.. it just seems like a PITA. Hell, could it be a wireless bridge for both my Xbox and my HTPC simultaneously?

Well if you're going to hook up the 360 to the HTPC you'll need to use a crossover cable and make sure ICS is turned on. You could also use the WRT54GS that you have as a wifi bridge for both the 360 & the HTPC.

You can use a regular ethernet cable to connect your Xbox & HTPC. That's how I've connected my Xbox 360 for years. It's almost plug-and-play. I think I had to enable internet sharing to that ethernet port on my PC, and that was it. It's really simple.

I went the WRT54 wireless bridge route. I've wanted GBLAN and Wireless N for quite some time, so it makes a lot more sense than buying a $50 Wireless G adapter for an Xbox.

Thanks guys.
