getting motorcycle...what do you think of this bike?

im getting a 1980 suzuki gs1100 with 4600 miles for 2500$, its a nice looking bike and will clean up real nice.It will be my first bike and may be a bit more powerfull than i should start with but I will never grow out of it.. Any opinions?
I want a street bike and not a crochrocket BTW.

Are suzukis good bikes?

This is just my opinion here...but $2500 for a 21 year old bike (that's not a collectible sort) seems really high.

Have you checked any prices online to compare?

I'd say no more than $1000, especially if it's not in mint or near mint condition...maybe less.

Kelly Blue Book (just checked for ya) lists the GS1100 ET or LT @ 1310 bucks for retail.

I bought an 82 650 Seca for a grand with 12000 miles
Mine looked like new though no cleanup required.

Considering its only got 4500mi, thats not to bad, but geez I hope the tires are'nt rotten after 21 yrs.:Q
