Getting more out of my speakers...

Hey everyone. I just bought a set of Creative Inspire 2.1 speakers, and I am not too impressed with the sound right now. I'm thinking that it could be because I'm using the onboard sound on my motherboard (realtek ALC650). I have an SB Live in my secondary computer, do you think that would work any better? Or should I just get a new card? I don't have too much money to blow, however :frown:.
