Hi,

I am noticing several more freezes on the web from different pcs on both dsl and comcast.

Is there anything going on that could account for this or could it be my drivers are getting old and are in need of updating?

I am planning to update since problem surfaced about six weeks ago for multiple pcs i use, but was just wondering if something else is going on that might be causing this?

I have Realtek and NViida and Marvel from motherboard.. so was considering going and getting 9300GT or such nic to see how that might improve things.. I use tcp optimizer.. so just was wondering if others have seen worse browsing lately and if they had any good solutions.

Just the browser normally. I contacted Comcast and spoke to area supervisor mentioning this and asking if changing cable modem would help with browser freezing up on me or gxine player in linux, etc.. and it appears they fixed by increasing my signal strength by swapping out the box from a 23 box to a 17 box which increased signal strength by 5-6 points! I was not aware they had different boxes to plug in about six cables with different resistors or whatever that were so rated... makes sense.. now I know what to ask for if I ever move to another apartment or condo... then I can ask.." hey comcast could you swap out the box???" :)

It does not seem to be computer problem but rather network devices issue.

I think you should describe what is the nature of the Internet connections that you have there.

This statement: "and it appears they fixed by increasing my signal strength by swapping out the box from a 23 box to a 17 box which increased signal strength by 5-6 points" is rather meaningless to any one who is not familiar with you specific setting.
