26 Dec 2004.
Wedding is in India and if any of you guys/gals are travelling to India you are invited(Just show up with your ATOT membership card).

I will be leaving for India this Sat and it hasn't hit me yet that I am about to take one of the biggest steps in my life.

Would it be wrong to concentrate my thoughts on honeymoon rather than the wedding itself?

Anyway you foos take it easy and enjoy the holidays

Congrats! Do we all have to greet the bouncer with the ATOT passphrase?

"Do you drive a Nissan Altima?" (or was it Maxima? Dammit... I'm not getting in this time)

by the time the wedding came around we couldn't wait for the honeymoon just so we wouldn't have to do anymore planning.

Don't be too stressed about the actual wedding itself ie. the ceremony and the "big day". Leave that to your wife. ;) just kidding, sorta.

I had a very large traditional wedding and my wife planned 99% of it. Things went awry the night before during the setting up of the reception hall. The company which was supposed to bring in the linen for the tables & chair covers was 2 hours late due to a story which is so damn unbelievable that I'm going to spare you the details. As a result, our caterer and their staff was not able to set up the place settings, of which my wife was extremely specific (she penciled a diagram of how everything was to be set up and handed a copy to EACH ONE of the caterer's help staff so they would "do it right"). SO, the wedding party had to set up all the plates etc., instead of enjoying one last night of good times which is customary for both the bridesmaids and groomsmen. Basically everything got messed up and my wife was a big ball of stress. But when we look back on the day itself, which was also not devoid of a few little mixups, we both say everything went great.

Long story short - don't sweat the small stuff. You're getting married. That's the main thing. As a guy, I think your time to shine is during the honeymoon. That's when you will have at least 2-3 days to plan out anything you want to do and impress your wife with your sense of schedule and time management. Until then, relax and enjoy yourself! Congratulations and enjoy married life!

congrats dude. remember not to stay up till 1am the night before your wedding and post about it like I did. ;) Lotsa rest! And eat something in the morning before you go... you won't have a bite to eat the rest of the day if all goes normally.
