Getting LILO To Recognize USB Keyboard/Mouse

I've installed Mandrake 8.0 pretty successfully on my system (it didn't seem to auto recognize my Herc GTXP card though), but I've run into a MAJOR problem with booting it up. I'm using a USB M$ keyboard and mouse, and while those WERE detected during installation and when I actually get Mandrake running (have to use the boot floppy), LILO doesn't seem to detect it. Because of this, I set the default OS to Win2K and within 5 seconds after no input my system boots to Win2K.

Am I using LILO correctly? Or am I missing something obvious?

Did the WIn2K boot menu use the keyboard? There's a setting in BIOS to allow USB keyboards sometimes..

Yup, the keyboard IS recognized by the BIOS, but the instant LILO turns on both the lights on the keyboard and infrared lights on the mouse (its an optical) shut off, even though they were on while in the BIOS. LILO renders them impotent.
