Getting lazy, is there a software that will let me do voice commands?

Just curious as I was doing voice commands on my cell phone... has any company made a software so I can say something like

"Google" - and it'll open google for me.

"Talk to Fred" - and opens an AIM with Fred.

I just tried to use Dragon Naturally Speaking for the Google example task. I believe it is possible, but I lack the knowledge (and patience and interest) to make it work.

MS has their own Voice Recognition system, and I'd be very surprised if they didn't have the means to operate their own software (IE) through voice commands.

There is S/W out there that will interact with specific programs (MS Office).

I belive what you are looking for is a package with generic interfaing that you have to train.

Not heard of one at this point. The technology for voice recognition is just starting to mature. It takes a lot of horsepower to handle this stuff. That is probably why it has taken so long. Lack of meomry and CPU cycles
