Why is it that all before pictures are overexposed and all after pictures are too dark?

What did you do from April to June 2003? That is only a few short months with quite a nice improvement.

I just ate a healthy diet and ran a lot.
How much running are we talking about?

-Case

I started by running 1/4 then walking 1/4 mile for a total of 2 miles. After a week, I was running 2 miles continuously. I then ramped up to 5 miles within a couple of more weeks. I ran 5 miles a day for quite a while, then backed down to 3.

I strained my achilles tendon in September and started biking about 50 minutes a day. During winter I did 30 minutes of cardi every day using a Gazelle Power Plus or a recumbent bike.

I usually do my cardio the first thing in the morning on an empty stomach.

Just the way it turned out. They were taken at different times of the day and the lights may have been on or off. The pictures are taken in the rec room of my basement with a Canon PowerShot A50.

Right now, I think my build is pretty similar to this pic taken about 16 years ago.

Hopefully, I'll be able to say the same when I'm 60!.

That is actually the best time to do cardio. You're insane. I start aching after running 1 mile and it's a PIA to do 2 miles but running really helps to tone the body.

I pretty much do the Gazelle Power Plus now. I bought it inspite of the cheesy informercials and I really like it.

Now that the weather is getting better, I'm looking forward to biking before work.

I just have to drag myself out of bed at 5:30 - 6:00 AM.

Wow, read through most of the thread, but the pics still blow me away. Great job. Now I'm wondering what was your workout routine and diet like before you started to work out?

I golfed or bowled once a week.

I had no breakfast or a banana, a small lunch, and a huge dinner. I ate a lot of bread and pasta and gorged myself when I travelled on business 4 or 5 times a year.

BTW how long did it take you to get those abs? Looks like you still need to work on them to define them but it's a great start. I just have a 2 pack on top that doesn't show very much.

Looks good, though I'm amazed your body can take that kind of pounding running every day.

I'd find I less harmful form of exercise at your age, you don't want to get a bad lower back. In any case you look like you've been pretty lean most your life from that 1986 pic.
