I noticed that some of my avi files (maybe mpeg also) have poor video quality in windows media player but not in other players. I have the latest version. I like windows media player because I can create a list of videos to play. I was wondering if there's a way to determine if I need a particular codec to improve playback. Thanks.

Sorry, I should have said what "horrible playback" meant. It's not that it's choppy and skips frames. It's like I'm playing a poor quality video in terms resolution. It's not like that on another player that I use but I don't like using that other one.
