I have a samsung syncmaster 17" lcd monitor, and an eVGA GeForce 7800 GS video card....is it possible for me to somehow dispaly HD channels off the airwaves on my computer? I live in Boston, so I assume there must be SOME.

Just a heads up ...

A quick check shows a 1280 x 1024 resolution on your panel with a 5:4 ratio - you may end up in a 'letterbox' or have a funky aspect ratio.

720p = 1366x768 16:9

No, 720p = 1280x720 (hence the "720"). 720p would look fine on a 1280x1024 display (you'll just have black bars on the top and bottom).

First of all, you have to be subscribed to a HDTV source, cable of satellite. HDTV signals just don't come wafting thtough the air.

Yeah I'm not sure...

I live about ~60 miles from where NBC/FOX/CBS broadcast ( they're all in the same general area ) and get all their HD signals. ABC broadcasts from the same place but I've only gotten their signal once or twice.

Of course, you may end up like me and need a "Large Directional, Amplified" antenna to receive more than PBS! I don't live out in the "country" by any means either....

thank you for the link!

I live a mile from downtown Boston so hopefully that helps...

Which channels are HD on that list?? Do you have to know what the station name is, or can you tell from something on that list?
