Basically thats the question. How do I get all the food out of the wholes my wisdom teeth left when I got them pulled. It's really a pain in the ass the way my teeth were in, and it's a pain to get food out of the wholes. Whats the best way to get the food out? I try gurgling, but that doesnt seem to work very good.

The Oral Surgeon should have given you a syringe with a curved end that you use to wash out the holes. I did it with a mixture of Hydrogen Peroxide and mouth wash.....call him and ask for one.

My dentist gave me a syringe with a curved, plastic tip to squirt water in there to blast out the food. Worked pretty well.

I used to take a half a mouthful of warm tap water and swoosh it around in my mouth til I felt the food particles in the water and did a rinse n spit into the toilet.

You should use the syringe the doctor gave you to shoot in there. It has a little hose thingy that will shoot water into the holes.

That is a no-no. You aren't supposed to swish your mouth around right after you get it pulled. Something like itll cause the thing to bubble up or something will happen in there.

I had the same problem, I developed an infection because food became trapped inside the gaping holes formerly occupied by my wisdom teeth. If you smell or taste something foul, that is a good sign you have an infection draining. Actually it wasn't so much an 'infection' as it was food particles decomposing. Nasty sh-t. I went back to the dentist and he flushed the whole area out really good.

I just had to swish warm (almost hot) salt water around back there really good after I ate and I was a lot more selective about what I ate for the next few weeks. I took really small bites instead of normal ones, chewed carefully to avoid getting food back there, and washed every bite down with a little bit of water. Seemed to help a lot.

I didn't get a curved syringe, damnit. Stupid dentist. They just told me gargle it out, that doesn't work. How the hell do you gargle out the food when it's stuck in there. Paying all that money to get the teeth pulled out and he couldnt have gave me a syringe. Anyone know where I can buy one?

Try gargling some hydrochloric or sulfuric acid. That should clean it right out.

Wrap your lips around a vacuum cleaner's hose. Should suck everything out pretty well.
