getting my dsl line upgraded to 3 mbps down and 512 kbps up. put in order a few days ago.
it will be done by the 10th. why the hell does it take a week to upgrade? isn't it just a few settings they have to adjust at the main office or whatever?

Hopefully you're near the telco and phone line conditon is good. I had this download speed 2 years ago, but something happened to my phone lines/wiring. I was downgraded to 2 mbps a weeks later.

Uprading to Comcast HSI 8 mbps/764 kbps a weeks from now.

Can you get DSL?.

You'll need to enter your zip code, address (for distance estimation), telephone number, and indicate wether residential or business use.

Mine shows as 9150 feet from the CO. Results page will show the broadband serives available in your area. It's not always accurate. Does not show Comcast HSI.

It takes a week because it is the phone company. My previous company moved two doors down and had to move the T1 line - talk about getting jacked! They were like "oh, it'll take these many days and will cost $1500." That's no joke! We knew a phone company lineman (I used to race BMX with him BITD and we'd cut him deals on computer repair) and called him up. He came over one evening and had it all done in about 20 minutes. He told us that if there's any problems between then and the promised time, to call him because if we call the regular numbers they won't know our line moved and he could get in trouble. Oh yeah, SBC still charged the $1500.

lol, nice results....

YEP!, your CO is wired for DSL from one or more DSL networks.
Unfortunately, no distance estimate was returned, so availability shown below may be limited if you live more than 12000 feet from the CO.

also, it doesn't show anything for the dsl service i have now through sprint/earthlink. it shows earthlink only has satellite broadband available...lol
