I RMA'ed my 7800GT because it crashed whenever I started playing a 3D game.

In the meanwhile, I bought an ATI X1050 and it gave me 1 long beep and 2 short beeps that are code for display error. Screen remains black. When card is disconnected, the monitor knows because it starts flashing random colors in hopes to give me a seizure.

I figured it was because the card doesn't support dual link and my monitor was pissed (i have a 30" dell) so i went and exchanged it for an X1550 which does support it. And sure enough, same code, same problem.

After shooting my whole family and setting fire to the building in frustration, I started crying.

Then I thought maybe it's a power issue. I have an Antec TruPower 430W w/ a DFI lanparty nf4 UT extreme zodiac megaflux plus 3.0 edition.

It's feeding 3 HDs, 4-5 fans and a dvd drive.

question is: is it possible the 7800GT was only getting enough power because of the extra connector i had to plug in it? Is that likely? could that have been the cause of the crashing when running 3D games? Did it cause Sound Advice to botch my car stereo installation?

And why would everything else run fine except the gpu anyways? WHY? NO POWER IS NO POWER DAMNIT!

So many questions, so little time.

HELP! I can't do my homework because I have no PC (using roommie's computer without his knowledge, may have to poison him tonight).

ps: I also can't play Bioshock. homowork (as I like to call h/w) is one thing, but this....this is just wrong. I'm dying a little every day. Help me before I kill my cat.

Thank you.
