Nvidia control panel/Riva Tuner is almost always 10c higher than what Everest/SpeedFan is telling me. Under load using the Rthdribl Demo (aka the GPU BBQ) the Nvidia Control panel says its up to 88c. Yikes. But Everest says its a bit more sane at 77c. Idle is more of the same, Nvid Cpl says 62c and Everest says 52c. Not sure what to make of this, they're both accessing the same sensor for their information right. Anyone have an idea which is probably the more reliable?

71.84, although Im probably going to install those new ones that came with the BF2 demo pretty soon.

EDIT- Oopsy, meant 71.89. Im aware of the temp bug in .84

I would go with the nvidia one, since they make the chip and all. 84c on a 6800gt stock fan isnt that far out of imagination, these cards get way too hot.

i'm with skreet. on stock cooling thats easy to hit. my 6600gt was over 90 until i got a vf700 and my 6800gt was low 80's load but idle was lower than yours with stock. the vf700 has it down to 66load and 50 idle.

I just installed the VF-700 last night actually. Amazing little piece of equipment. About a -15c drop under load across the board.

The main reason Ive been skeptical of the Nvid Cpl is when it hit 88c with the Rthdr Demo. That just seems way too high. I have very good air flow in my case and Im pretty sure ambient isnt an issue when every other component has good temps. And Everest/Speed Fan are pretty much dead on with everything else. Wish I could get an answer from Nvidia on this but I doubt they'll tell you if their own temp readings are off by 10c.
