DFI NF3 250GB with latest BIOS
Sempron64 3100+ @ 2.6Ghz
2x512MB GEIL PC3200

I've been trying to get Cool 'n' Quiet working with this board and CPU, but I'm unsure if it's working properly.

Since I use a 8.0x multiplier when overclocking, I've configured RMclock to clock down to 1600Mhz (5x320) with no load, and 2560Mhz (8x320) when loaded. The clock adjustment works fine, but the voltage doesn't change. According to CPU-z, Speedfan, Smart Guardian, AIDA32, my voltage is still reported as 1.5v when running at 1600Mhz -- even though I've set it at 1.35v in RMclock.

CnQ is turned on the BIOS, CPU voltage set to Auto, with +110% special voltage. I've even turned all voltages to Auto and run everything at stock, and still the voltages don't appear to change.

Any ideas?

BTW using RMClock isn't CnQ.

CnQ isn't supported by Semprons last i checked.

Back to RMClock
I get RMClock to work on my A64 with these voltage setting in my bios
CPU StartUp Voltage: 1.35
CPU Voltage: Auto
CPU SpecialVoltage: +110%

Cool and Quiet: OFF

Also i think you have to have the office AMD driver installed not the windows one... Well thats what i have and it works.

CnQ is supported by the newer 64-bit Semprons (Palermo 90nm core).

I'll give that a try and see how it goes.

I have a Sempron 3100 (130nm stepping CG) that works with the older CnQ implementation called "PowerNow". I'm using an ECS NF3 MB ($89 combo deal from outpost).

You need to install the AMD PowerNow driver and make sure the power management in the Control Panel isn't set to Always on.

It actually turns off my CPU heatsink fan (CN7000) at idle and with AMD CPUinfo app I can watch the voltage, GHz, and cpu usage %. It gets down to 1.1 volts.

I found this same info here in the forum by seaching. Search on PowerNow, you'll find plenty of info.
