Getting Cable with a TV/monitor without a tuner

I have an Olevia 332H "TV" that I have at home, set up with a cable box. I am planning on bringing it to school in the next week, but I will not have a cable box in my dorm. I do not believe there is a tuner. What is the best way to get around this?

I am reading on the olevia website, and it says something about a VCR?

It is not required that any solution NEEDS to let me watch HD, but it would obviously be nice, unless the price is too high

GAH, analog SD with composite, UGH, and on a 720p screen 🙁 I feel for ya.

I don't care, its not like I am missing out on more than a few HD channels. I guess VCR is the way to go?

ok, I have the tv connected through a VCR with AV cables.

Any better way to do this? I doubt there is any cheap way to get OTA HD

Got to http://www.antennaweb.org and see what types of OTA signals you get and your distance from towers.

If you got a computer, you could get Vbox 3650 USB OTA only HDTV tuner, probably a Zenith Silver Sensor type HDTV antenna, and the free Watchhdtv.net program (though you need to provide your own dvd decoders). If you already have Windows Media Center, you may just need to get the drivers from the Vbox website. I mention the VBox brand because they are very stable with simple drivers; there are lots of other usb or pci hdtv tuner cards, too.

If you just want plug and play without using a computer, the Samsung DBT-H260F is a very nice OTA HDTV tuner (works great with OTA only signals into HDTV; has HDMI, too and cheap HDMI cables available from Monoprice.com.

EDIT: this guy is selling an used VBox 3560 USB OTA HDTV tuner for $50 shipped:
