I have had a dual boot setup on my laptop between x86 vista and ubuntu up until recently. Then I got more ram and decided to upgrade to x64, which I just did. Now I need to find a way to get ubuntu's bootloader back without reinstalling the OS; the ubuntu partition was left intact throughout the whole process, so I am guessing there is a real easy way to do this. Anyone? :)

yeah, its funny that if you install windows first then linux that linux will play nice and add windows to the boot menu and cause no problem. but if you install linux first then windows, windows will kill the linux bootloader. so always install windows first if you have the option and are loading both at the same time.

Not always true. I just tried installing Xubuntu to a USB HD using my vista machine and Xubuntu killed the Vista MBR after the install
