Saltwater aquariums. It's been 2 years since I got out but getting that itch again. I still had my custom built tank that only saw water for a leak test in the garage. Thought I had just about everything already to start except the stand and a new pump but still took a $200 order on top of the cost of the stand to do so.

I'm going to keep it strictly to just fish for now but I already know it's going to be full of corals before I know it and feel I need a bigger tank.

Every time I go to Petsmart that Biocube thing catches my eye but when I look it up online people report all kinds of issues and so I always pass.

Maybe you can set some restraints for yourself and limit the scale to keep the budget from getting too badly out of control?
If the hobby helps to keep you sane and improves your overall quality of life, then it's probably healthy.

Yea those are just small tanks with basically everything built-in (lighting and filtration). Easier for the novice to start but not always easier to maintain. Less water means small water parameter swings make a much bigger impact and much more quickly.

Big saltwater tanks are things of beauty when done right. At least you're wasting your money on something amazing!

Aquarium= glass or acrylic box into which you pour large sums of money...

I haven’t had one operational in over 10 years....I miss it...but not the work...or the costs.

Not a show but a youtube video that showed up on my list. lol. Then I started watching other suggested videos and that was the end of it. The moment the wife said ok I pressed the submit order button.

Fish only it's not much point unless you get off on owning a tiny shark. You might as well just have a goldfish. The only reason to spend all that time and all that money is to have a full reef tank and unless you have a shitload of time, even more money and still more commitment that's going to end badly. Maybe find a cheaper hobby like yachting or collecting Picassos.

I've always wanted a reef tank but where i'm located now it's just not possible. When I lived in AZ I had a normal salt tank. 150 gallon. I had 3 eels, a grouper, and a couple trigger fish.
