Getting back into CS 1.3..

I haven't played CS for months due to some stability problems I've been having, but I'm getting a new motherboard/processor that'll kick things up a bit and I'll be playing again in the future, anyone wanna gimme a heads up on what's new? I searched and read what I could about some of the hacks being fixed in 1.3 but I didn't find anything about those anti-cheat clients that were starting to be used when I last played(Punkbuster?).. will I need one of those? Also, anyone have a link to the CS 1.3 upgrade hosted somewhere other than fileplanet? I couldn't find one in my search..

No need for a link to a DL page anymore.. just noticed I have the CS 1.3 full installer sitting on my HDD.. no idea when I DL'd that Anyway my real concern is just the anti cheating devices.. I've heard of something called Paladin Anticheater?

Punkbuster's basically dead. Most of the best servers use CS Guard to search for cheats, but some servers are now requiring a new anti-cheat client called Cheating Death -

What're your pings like? I just played a bit and I'm getting like 200ish pings on a DSL connection.. anyone know why that could be? Not running a single thing in the background or anything.. it's just laggy. Also.. what the heck could 'cause the CS to error out when joining a game with an error saying that such and such a file has been modified since starting the game when I really haven't done anything..

Usually my pings are around 50, but it depends a lot on the server you're playing on...
