Getting Audio Through Built-In LCD TV Speakers from PC

Recently got the 32" Samsung and it has been awesome coming from an old TV. We wanted to try to double the LCD TV as a computer monitor. but we've hit a few problems.

The LCD TV has an audio in that supposedly can output audio. I bought one of the M/M stereo cables as seen here:
http://www.monoprice.com/produ..._id=644&seq=1&format=2

I plugged it straight from the speaker output from my computer to the audio input from the LCD TV, but no sound comes out!

I am thinking it has to do with the fact that the audio input may be associated with a corresponding VGA input, but since we're using DVI -> HDMI it's coming from a different "source" if that makes sense. I can't test the VGA input because it doesn't let you switch to an input unless there's something actually plugged in.

There has to be some way to use HDMI and have the audio coming to the same screen, but I'm not sure how.

You are correct, that audio port is associated with the VGA port.

I use a receiver so its much easier. Perhaps there may be a stereo analog in(RCA) associated with the HDMI port...it would be kinda odd, but that would be your best bet if it did.

Either that or connect via VGA

The manual says something to the effect that when connecting a PC to the TV, only connect to HDMI "port 1".

I inferred that it might have something to do with the audio since there's three different HDMI ports I could be plugging into... so I haven't lost hope yet.

It's telling you to use HDMI 1 because HDMI 1 has analogue (RCA red+white) audio associated with it. This is the way it is on my Samsung 4065F, and I would assume that it is the same on your set (which seems to have the same directions). In either case, you would need a 3.5" miniplug to 2x RCA adapter from monoprice in addition to that cable that you purchased. I will post a picture later of how I have my set connected (I'm using DVI>HDMI + 3.5mm>RCA for my PC to TV connection). I just don't happen to be at my apartment right now so I can't snap a pic.
