getting audio in condo

I posted before, but have a better idea this time.

I just want some small speakers, like mythos two's for the sides of my TV, 1 sub, 1 center.

Would that be too loud, and reverberate to the unit above me? I have no units to the sides, or below me.

Also, is there any other option then the mythos two's that I can wall mount and are pretty thin?

Same with a center?

is this your own condo that you are allowed to put holes in the walls and stuff? because there are plenty of speakers that have in-wall mounting as oppose to getting as thin as possible and just mounting them on the wall.

and your neighbor hearing your stuff totally depends on how the condo is built. we really won't be able to answer that for you.

I can do whatever I want, we own it.

It's a 1902 brownstone ... unsure about what sort of separation we have between floor/ceiling, probably just a few slabs of wood.

old houses tend to have poor sound dampening 🙁
furthermore, brownstone is also supposed to be poor at sound dampening 🙁
if your upstairs neighbor has updated flooring, there may be some sound insulation. Can you hear your neighbor walking around/talking upstairs?

that said, the speakers will be as loud or soft as you want them to be when connected to a receiver. A subwoofer is probably out of the question (unless you keep it turned down, and then it kind of loses its intended purpose since your fronts should be able to output a limited amount of low end anyway)

definitive tech makes some nice speakers. you could buy 3 of those mythos 2's for use as front, center, and left.
The amazon reviewers say it provides ok bass, but with 4.5" drivers don't expect any miracles
i'm not sure if there are any thin speakers with bigger drivers

So those are the only decent wall mountable ones are they?

if you plan on getting a subwoofer anyway, you might be able to do better. I haven't seen anything around that price range with better bass so far.
