Does that sound right, seems kinda slow when transfering gigabyte size files, analogX netstat and DUmeter show 2.0 to 2.1 megaBYTES per second.

This is transfering files from my desktop to my laptop.

What is the rated speed for that connection? It's usually in megaBITS/s, so divide that by 8 (8 bits/byte). Then, you'll only pull like 80-something percent of that max; mebbe less for a wireless (which I've never used).

802.11g should yield about 20Mb/sec. Real Life transfer, which is 2.5MB/sec.

b=bit B=Byte 1Byte=8bits.

My 802.11 G network gets around 1 megaByte/sec, I am situated through many walls though, I'm fine with it, it's better than B :)
