Getting around the word filter

Since this thread got locked in FI I'll post this here.

Instances of "fvck" in the non-archived threads :683
Instances of "sh!t" in the non-archived threads: 1506
Instances of "st@b" in the non-archived threads: 495

Instances of "dtb" in the non-archived threads: 4
Instances of "dh!tb" in the non-archived threads: 3

Now that we all have full text search anyone can look this up.

What is the general consensus on banning someone for bypassing around the word filter? Obviously it is acceptable to bypass certain words, but not others.

That wasn't quite my intent. I was simply asking a question. If the Mods want to give me 5 weeks off for this thread that is their prerogative.

I think it is a fair point.

It is ok sometimes to replace one letter of a word to swear, and sometimes certain acronyms are ok and sometimes they aren't. The rules would be easier to follow if they were clear.

but then again, if someone goes to all the trouble to change a letter, their intent to swear has been set. I am just curious as to why it is ok sometimes and not other.
