I needed some new earbuds & the Amazon brand was on an early Prime Day sale for $35:

I'm pretty dang impressed with them! Laundry list review:

* I've had my wired Etymotic earbuds for 10+ years. The Echo Buds (2023 edition) are like 95% as good as they are in terms of accuracy (but better balanced imo & better bass!), PLUS they're wireless! It's incredible that they were only $35.
* These are a semi-open design, so you can hear through them somewhat, which is what I was looking for. The Ety's were totally sealed, great for sound, not so great to hear your environment lol.
* Battery life is 5 hours. Charging case holds 4 charges (20 hours total). A 15-minute quick-charge will run for 2 hours. The tiny, magnetic case uses a standard USB-C (not included) instead of the horrible Micro-USB, so A+ for that!

* Pairing was incredibly easy. Use the Alexa app, done. Took seconds. No annoying setup is A+
* You can pair them to two devices & easily swap between them, so if you need to hop on a Zoom call on your laptop & then switch it to a voice call on your phone, easy peasy. I can play a Youtube video on my computer, pause it, hit play on the Spotify app on my phone, and it instantly starts playing. Bluetooth 5.2 is what Bluetooth should have originally been!
* Customizable tap controls (single/double/triple-tap & long tap). Tap surface is nice, large, and flat. Not fiddly at all, never got the hang of other ones!

* Works with Alexa, Siri, and Google Assistant
* It has wake word technology, which works great. "Alexa, pause" pauses Spotify on my phone right away!
* You can tap to activate Alexa (both buds have tap detection or just say the wake word. I have a smarthome fully setup on Alexa & it's SUPER nice not to have to yell at my Echo Dot, haha!

* You can use just one bud automatically, which is nice. The sound quality for music suffers quite a bit as a solo bud FYI. The pairing of the left & right on these particular earbuds enhances the sound like a hundred fold & makes the sound stage HUGE!
* It has ear-removal detection & will automatically pause when one bud is removed, which is pretty cool.
* Alexa app has an equalizer, which is nice to tweak the sound the way you want it for bass, mids, and treble.

I can't believe how polished these are, especially for the price. Modern technology is crazy!

Not really a prime day deal but just looked up if Greenworks has any sales and found this:

https://www.amazon.ca/GreenWorks-GST80320-Cordless-Attachment-Included/dp/B00WRNSCJE

I might actually pull the trigger on that. Was at my off grid property today and the grass is super tall considering all the rain we've been getting, but the terrain is too rough for a lawn mower, I used my Ryobi 18v weed whacker last year but this one might be more effective. It also takes attachments which will come in handy for clearing trails. Can put a brush cutter on it.

I want to get an electric robotic lawnmower. There's a dude in town who does this as a business & has like a dozen of them that he just drops off all day at people's houses. He installs the underground wire for the "invisible fence", does the edging manually, then picks up the mower later once the job is done. It's pretty genius lol.

That's actually pretty cool. You could cover a lot of ground doing that, have like 10 yards going at once and all you have to do is drive to go pick them back up and drop them off at next one. Could have a bunch of screens to monitor status of each one and go tend to any that get stuck or what not. Basically just drive around and manage everything as one person.

I have a regular push mower that's electric, also Greenworks, and it works quite well.

I got groceries from Amazon Fresh, saved a bundle, plus got a $15 code for GrubHub. We’ll have salad from Amazon along with Wendy’s burgers tonight. Hoping they offer different deals tomorrow. Was pleased to get a chicken for under $5 & a family pack of drumsticks for under $4. Plus 3 pounds of hamburger for $5

I've looked at the Prime deals and at Newegg's competing sale. Just haven't seen anything yet worth dropping the hammer on. We'll see.

Was hoping for a deal on a grill but I thin it's too early in the season for that.

Funny you mention the ryobi trimmer. I have a refurb in my cart there. That was about it for me.
I would get a greenworks or Ego or stihl or whatever bigger trimmer, but I have a bucket of ryobi batteries that are all good. It is also really light, which is important for my wife and her RA.
I have a gas Stihl for my personal back torture.

Got a Samsung A8 tablet ($70 off), 256GB SDHC II card, charger for my Sony cameras (will charge 3 batteries at a time), the Devotion 4k Blu ray, some Addidas slide sandals and a cordless air duster (to replace using the cans of compressed air)...

I do feel sorry all of the UPS and amazon delivery drivers and package stuffers tonight and tomorrow...

I bought a Dewalt 20v string trimmer when we moved here. It's a bit...uncomfortable...needs a good strap, otherwise, it works fairly well. (winding the double string is a PITA...and keeping it fed correctly is nearly impossible.)

I hate string trimmers. You think "Hey! This is great!", then everything goes to shit and you spend the next 10 minutes dicking with the string. If it can't be done with a steel blade, I don't need to do it.

Did snag a few things @ decent discounts but all things I would buy anyway except for a few 50% off t-shirts.

I did my first ever prime day purchase.

1) Got a battery and inverter to power all key parts of my house for ~1 day (fridge, freezer, modem, router, lights, etc). https://www.amazon.com/s?k=B09SYKRGK2&crid=12ONF8XD4T7PM&sprefix=b09sykrgk2,aps,140&ref=nb_sb_noss It has enough wattage to power a couple of space heaters on high (but only for an hour) if I was desperate. I'll eventually hook it up to my solar panels to power the house longer during power outages. I was really going to go for a tri-fuel generator (gas + propane + natural gas) until this deal came along.

2) My modem is going out, so I replaced it with a deal of the day modem. Nothing special.

Got an S6 Lite tablet to replace my Fire HD 10 plus and Dunkirk on 4k disk.

Also not really Prime, but Target has Mario Bros U Deluxe digital code for $20, so I grabbed that.

Ugh, tell me about it. I've had 2 Black & Decker auto-spooling ones and they simply don't work. Have never figured out the mechanism or how it's even supposed to work. Even watched repair videos - no dice.

I have just accepted that I have to manually pull more string out at least once a session. But I went for better aftermarket lines to compensate.

ordering some books off AMZ - but it's nothing to do with Prime deals

most significant one is Histoires prodigieuses by Pierre Boaistuau published in 1569
"

Certaine secrete wonders of nature, containing a descriptiõ of sundry strange things, seming monstrous in our eyes and iudgement, bicause we are not priuie to the reasons of them. Gathered out of diuers learned authors as well Greeke as Latine, sacred as prophane

"

Think the text is French+English, side-by-side - which is better than entirely French. Not like I had options.

I have had this one for over 3 years and I haven't had any issues with it..

I even use the generic spools..
