Getting an old HP iPaq 5450 onto my home network

I recently switched to Verizon and have one of their Actiontec MI424WR modem/routers. I'm using WPA2. The old iPaq 5450 only does WEP. What are my options?

I can put the Actiontec in WEP mode, but that's pretty insecure.

I've been told that there is no "mixed mode" on the Actiontec.

Can the iPaq be "forced" into WPA or WPA2? Those technologies came out after this device was manufactured.

Would I have to buy another router or add another one bridged to the Actiontec?

If the iPaq had the ability to replace components or use a USB adapter, the first option would be to get a newer wifi adapter for the device. I don't think that's possible, so your next option is to get a second wireless router (or access point) and set it to use WEP and only allow the iPaq to connect to that access point.
