getting an invalid VxD dynamic link error

My friends internet (rogers@home) hadn't been working for awhile, so i was trying to fix his problem
I went to the system control panel and remove the network card and started the reboot

But during the reboot, i get the nice blue screen of death saying

Invalid VxD dynamic link call from VSDATA95(01) + 00014E84 to device "0020", service 800A.

I've tried reinstalling windows 98se but while it's rebooting for the first time, I get the same error.

Anyone know anything that could solve this problem without formatting. I'd like to try and avoid that
since it's not pc.

Was ZoneAlarm ever installed?

Also if you do a google search for VSDATA95 then you will get tons of hits if you still need it.

The proper way to remove ZoneAlarm
