Getting an IMac to work with my Cable Modem and Netgear Router

I recently acquired a Year One IMac. I have restored the system to factory and I want to use it on the internet. Can anyone help? If so, please let me know what else you need to know from me so I can get this rectified. Thank you.

What exactly is the problem? What do you mean by "Year One"?

Year One = First Year of Model (First IMac).

Problem = Cannot Connect to the Internet.

What OS version is on it? Do you have Dial-up or DSL?
