Getting an ID on the weekend

Hey guys, do you know if there is any way to get an ID on the weekend? My bf lost his driver's license last night, and DPS is closed, so he can't get a temp. Its superbowl weekend, and we really wanted to go out.

he has a passport, but its expired...does that matter?

You worried about driving without a license on hand, or going to clubs and stuff?

Something similar happened to my dad a few years back. he had lost his license and needed to drive (he was working weekends as an auditor and wasn't able to get to the DPS), so he drove to work with his passport in his glove compartment and, just his luck, got pulled over. He gave the officer his drivers license number, his passport, his insurance card, and told him what happened - it actually isn't a problem, at least in Texas, to drive without having your license *on you* as much as it is to drive without a license issued to you. The officer said he could have made my dad go to court and pay a small fee but didn't.

i guess he should be worried about driving without a liscense, but i think we are more worried about getting in to clubs, etc. most places here will not accepted an expiried license (what he has)

I don't think the DMV is open on the weekend. what a bummer.

we don't have dmv here




you can try the passport, they might not realize its expired. i wish i had the $200 to pay cover that the clubs on main were charging thursday night

oh, that makes sense. i guess we are S.O.L. hahah, I know, the covers are crazy. We probably won't go in anywhere, but I am just concerened that they will check on the streets or something. its annoying.
