just tried logging into a server and I get "NET_SendPacket ERROR: WSAEIWTR".... i'm not sure what to do.... i was playing on this comp at home this past weekend, but when i do it here at school i have problems.

edit: well apparently this is caused by major packet loss, or my line is too laggy.. i guess that many dialup users are having the same problem. hrm.... anyone else have some input?

I had that error in XP when I first installed it,it seems getting rid of QoS from network tab solved the problem for me,it`s quite a common problem for cs users with 2k/XP.

First, wrong forum, second uninstall and reinstall it and see if that helps. Not being psychic its tough to try and figure out some problems.

Well that makes sense. Instead of helping to fix the problem by posting in the correct forum, you will compound the problem by posting in the wrong forum. :p

going to try uninstall/reinstall

Give us information too.

Maybe one of these days Ill actually play one of these silly games...

what sort of info would you like? if it worked or not?.... it's going to be a while, i need to re-dl the patches.

Hardware would be a good start. This connection is through your school? Are you hooked up directly to their network or do you have a home NAT device in between? Are you sure its "WSAEIWTR" and not "WSAEINTR"? What OS? Any relevant updates on update.microsoft.com?

ermph, i spose i should've edited that, yes it is WSAEINTR.

using my notebook, all the drivers are up to date, along with a 3com wireless card. no NAT device, i'm in the dorms right now, running on win xp pro, no updates that i can tell.

Searching for that error came up with plenty of possible solutions.

i've tried them all, except for the ones of changing the config on my wireless adapter, mainly because i don't know how.

sofar i've had no luck, i've got about 30 min left on this dl here and then i'm going to remove and try a reinstall... don't know how well it is going to work tho.
