Just purchased a E6400 and Asrock 775 Dual VSTA motherboard from a member here.

What speed memory do I need for this setup? I've read somewhere about PC2-8500 (DDR2 1066) but just want to verify. The place didn't say if it was required or not.

Mushkin 2GB DDR2 1066

I'd love to use the cheaper DD2 and get 4gigs if possible.

DDR2-1066 would probably be overkill. You'll be okay with DDR2-667 or DDR2-800 I'd think.

Just get two (or four, at these prices) of these sticks from the hot deals forum. Can't beat the price and they should work beautifully with your new rig.

I had the Asrock 4CoreDual VSTA board... it may be the same as your board, but the asrock has a fsb wall at 290-300.... 667 DDR is enough, but DDR 800 is about the same price so just get the 800 ram.

That is, the 4CoreDual is a fsb wall at 300. I'm not sure about your new board.. search. There's a whole thread in the motherboard forum for your baord.
